OUR HISTORY

The Lozano-Altur Tennis Academy, founded in 2016, is the result of the passion, experience and shared vision of two great references in the world of tennis: José Altur and Pablo Lozano. Both directors have common roots that go back to their collaboration in the emblematic TENISVAL academy, a true hotbed of talent at national and international level.

More than 25 years ago, José Altur led TENISVAL as Director, while Pablo Lozano played the role of Head Coach, forming a tandem that left its mark on the development of elite tennis players. This academy was not only a reference in Spain, but also worldwide, being the starting point for numerous players who reached outstanding positions in the ATP and WTA rankings.

Inspired by this track record of success, Lozano and Altur decided to join forces once again to create an innovative project of excellence: the Lozano-Altur Tennis Academy. Our approach combines the experience accumulated over decades with a comprehensive training model, designed to train both developing players and professional tennis players looking to reach the highest level.

Among the names of outstanding players who have passed through the hands of our coaches are those who have gone on to establish themselves as true stars of world tennis.

This tradition of success continues to be our daily motivation as we strive to cultivate the next generation of champions.

And many other players, especially from Eastern countries such as Russia and Kazakhstan, consolidated their careers thanks to teamwork and excellent training.

After 18 years of intense activity, TENISVAL closed a chapter, but the professional relationship between José Altur and Pablo Lozano evolved into a new stage. Pablo was already leading Sara Errani’s training, while José worked with Taro Daniel. The accumulated experience and shared vision led them to join forces, establishing their base at the Club Deportivo Saladar facilities, where they continue to this day.

Since the start of this new project in 2016, more than 500 students have passed through the Lozano-Altur Academy. Many of them have reached outstanding positions in the professional rankings, consolidating themselves as elite tennis players. Others have channelled their passion and knowledge into a successful career as coaches, as is the case of Igor Andreev and Ricardo Ojeda.

With each passing year, the Lozano-Altur Academy reaffirms itself as a centre of reference for the development of professional tennis, continuing the tradition of training great players and forging success stories in the sport.

We are a tennis academy with a family spirit, designed to provide high quality, personalised attention. We maintain a small number of students to ensure that each player receives individualised teaching, close attention and detailed follow-up. Our priority is to provide an environment where excellence is the standard.

We focus on developing intensity of play and tactics as the fundamental pillars of training. Our main objective is to guide players on their path to professionalism, working strategically to reach their maximum potential.

We firmly believe in the importance of getting to know each player in depth. This allows us to enhance their strengths, minimise their areas of improvement and design a fully tailored development plan. In addition, we encourage their confidence and self-confidence to grow hand in hand with their progress on the court, creating a solid foundation for their long-term success.

At Lozano-Altur Academy, we don’t just develop tennis players; we develop champions on and off the court.
